From New York City to Peekskill, NY

Yesterday Gary & Kathy took a ferry across to Manhattan, toured the area around Times Square, and went to a Broadway play -- "Billy Elliott", which they proclaimed to be excellent. John and I stayed aboard, I did laundry, and mid-afternoon Julie & family arrived. We all had lots of fun on board, and we ordered supper from Houlihans. The weather cooperated and was mostly sunny, breezy with temps in the 70s.
We left this morning around 9:00, under cloudy/foggy skies with rain misting at times, and it is in the 60s.
We have been underway for 9 days now and haven't needed any groceries, beer or wine. We're still eating fresh vegetables, lettuce and also have a herb garden under the dodger.
Just north of NYC, we passed Palisade Cliffs on the NJ side, and from here on north the Hudson River is quite picturesque with rounded mountains on all sides.
We reached Peekskill, dropped anchor and had a chili casserole for dinner. The sky had cleared, and we watched the sun go down behind Big Bear mountain providing a beautiful sunset.
