We arrived in Utica at the public dock around 4:00. We had a Memorial Day cook-out with hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, and corn.
We have been through numerous locks in the past two days. In the picture at the left we are entering lock #17, which is the highest lock on the Erie Canal at 40 feet; the other picture is inside the lock; and in the picture (upper left), we are tied up at the dock in Utica.
Later in the evening we had heavy thundershowers, and it rained all night, with us snug & dry in our beds.
Tomorrow we have fewer locks to go through and rain is expected all day.
